Yoga for Ceramic Artists
with
Naomi Choi
Join us with Naomi Choi of @asana.ceramics for a special yoga class for ceramic artists, followed by refreshments and conversation.
Experience an all-levels 45-minute session of stretching and moving the body, tuning into the breath, and cultivating greater ease and mindfulness to tap into your creativity. Naomi, an accomplished potter and certified yoga instructor, will guide you into poses and movements so you can learn how to meet the physical demands of working with clay with greater ease. Come experience how a mindful movement practice can help you reduce stress and anxiety and combat fatigue commonly experienced by potters and clay artists.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in. Please bring your own mat if you have one, as mats are available on a first come first served basis. Feel free to reach out to Naomi with any questions by email at yogawithnaomichoi@gmail.com or in Instagram @asana.ceramics.
Naomi Choi is a certified yoga instructor with over 500 hours of teacher training. She teaches Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, and is also the maker behind @asana.ceramics. ‘āsana’ often refers to the more physical practice of poses and postures in yoga, but the Sanskrit term actually translates to ‘seat’, as in a steady and comfortable seat. Thus, it can also be understood as the vehicle of the soul, and a container of consciousness; and the practice of asana as one of cultivating ease within oneself. Working with clay is where Naomi has found her ease and personal alignment.
