Unconventional Materials and Techniques in Ceramics

An overview and demonstration of Sarah Knight’s current work on incorporating found and repurposed materials into the ceramic process.  Sarah is currently an artist resident at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and uses a unique process to fuse found objects, rocks, steel, pottery shards into their ceramics.  They will show us techniques to maximize stability, and how to create a palette of experimental materials using low and mid-temp electric firings.
