We have three new members to welcome this month. Pat Johnson joined us as a Sustaining Member, thank you, Pat. Our sustaining members give us the extra help to bring all the programming and events you expect at ClayHouston. Tracy Corinne joined on the Corporate Level and Linda Hayon, new to Houston, joined as a General Member. Please take a moment to get to know them by visiting their member pages and be sure to welcome them in person if you get a chance.
ClayHouston members made it big in the September issue of Ceramics Monthly. Gabo Martini is featured on pages 32-35, CH board member Lauren Clay has an artwork in the Exposure Section, page 20 and the CH Symposium event ad is on page 78.
We have the unique opportunity of a member-only workshop in Germany at the Atelier Haus Hilmsen Residency, June 2020. The Information Night is September 18, 7 - 9 p.m. For more information go to Here.
We have been asked to be a Cultural Partner at the 2019 Texas Contemporary, Oct 10-13, at the George R Brown Convention Center. We will feature 10 ClayHouston Artists. Members will receive an e-mail call later this week
We are working on making our BCCC (clay crawl) December 8, 2019, the best ever. We have arranged for a non-profit table at the 1st Saturday events in the Heights in September, October, November and December and are looking for volunteer members to man the table. For more information and to Sign up
Lilly Lerner’s “Traveling Purses” will be our Clay Creative event on September 28th, 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at Nosami Studio, 739 West 7 1/2 St, Houston, TX 77007. Lilly will discuss her experiences with putting on a solo exhibition abroad. Registration is open.

Damon Thomas at Jung Center
Opening Saturday, Sept. 7, from 5-9 p.m. at The Jung Center, “Ancestors” will feature new ceramic and mixed-media sculptures by Damon Thomas, along with 2D works by Ellen Ray. The address is 5200 Montrose Boulevard, Houston. An artist talk moderated by Anna Tahinci, art history chair at the Glassell School of Art, will be on Thurs., Sept. 12, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The overall exhibition dates are from Aug. 31 through Sept. 29.

Clara Hoag Solo at Hooks Epstein
Clara Hoag is excited to announce her solo exhibition "bend," which opens at Hooks Epstein Galleries 6pm-8pm on Saturday September 7th, 2019. An artist talk is scheduled for 5:30pm preceding the reception. The exhibition will run September 7th– October 12th, 2019.
