Please join us for a potluck and a two-day workshop led by Thomas Morrissey!
We will begin this workshop with a potluck at Center for Centering on Friday from 7-9 PM. You are welcome to bring a dish to share, as well as a piece of your work. During the potluck, participants will have the opportunity to mingle and share their work with one another. On Saturday morning, Thomas will discuss his work and career as a professor, artist, and entrepreneur. Afterward, participants will take part in a hands-on raku firing demonstration. Please bring one bisque-fired raku clay piece. There will be a limited selection of raku glazes on hand before firing. On Sunday, Thomas will teach participants how to construct and assemble sculptural forms through the use of extruded clay shapes.
Participants must bring their own tools, one 25-pound bag of raku clay for extruding, and one bisque-fired raku clay piece. There will be no lunch provided, so please bring a packed lunch or grab something during our one-hour break.
