It's hard to believe we are already closing in on the end of 2021! We've had a busy year and the fun just keeps on coming! Today is #GivingTuesday and it's a wonderful day to show support for ClayHouston. This is your chance to directly impact the Clay Community in Houston. Come on out Sunday December 5th from 10am - 5pm for ClayHouston’s Bayou City Clay Crawl. With 44 amazing ceramic artists at 7 Heights-area host studios there will be something for everyone, beautiful sculptural works, functional wares, and Live Demos at Noon, 1:30pm and 3pm at different locations. Empty Bowls Houston will be joining us again this year. I hope you will visit the studios and support our talented local artists as well as the Houston Food Bank. Visit for more information and a map of the studio locations.

Congratulations are also in order for our November Raffle winner, Molly Moorman! Molly takes home the lovely Grid Bowl by Maria Hernandez. 

Our December Raffle item is a beautiful pair of Porcelain Stud Earrings handmade by Danelle Cass of Earth and Ember. Each earring measures 1” in diameter and is mounted on surgical steel posts, see below for a photo. These could be a fashionable treat for you or a great holiday gift for a loved one! Looking ahead, I’m excited to announce that we’ve partnered with The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for the exhibition: Limitless: The 2021 Recipients of ClayHouston’s Award for Texas BIPOC Ceramic Artists. The Exhibition will showcase work by award winners, Jihye Han, Tammie Rubin & Earnest Snell and will be presented inside HCCC’s Asher Gallery from January 15 to March 5, 2022. Keep an eye out for additional information and programming announcements.

Linnis Blanton at Beaumont Art League

Linnis Blanton announces the opening of his one person show "Sacred Silence" at the Beaumont Art League, 2675 Gulfway Street, Beaumont, TX 77703. Opening reception on Saturday, November 13 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Exhibition runs from Nov 13 to Dec 17.

Damon Thomas in Sculpture Month

Contact,” a clay-focused multimedia installation by Damon Thomas, is on view through Dec. 4 as part of Sculpture Month Houston at SITE Gallery at The Silos at Sawyer Yards, 1502 Sawyer St., Suite 400. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12-6.  Damon will give an artist talk on Sat., Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.

 “Contact” is one of 16 installations on view for Sculpture Month Houston. The gallery’s cavelike setting is ideal for this year’s theme, “Altamira: The Primal Urge to Create.” Damon’s installation is his imagining of how humans and wolves first encountered each other in the dark confines of a prehistoric cave.
