Michelle Heinesen at Lee College
The Exhibit "Diasporic Identity" at Lee College will feature the works of Chong-Ok Lee Matthews, Tiffany Huen-Hui Lee, and Michelle Heinesen, and it will be on display in the PAC gallery March 1-April 8. An opening reception will take place 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 5. A Women's History Month talk with the artists will take place 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 24.

Beeville Art Museum announces the opening of the ceramic art exhibition, "Mostly Raku", of Terry Hagiwara at 401 E. Fannin, Beeville, TX 78102. Exhibit runs from January 31-April 30, 2022. Emily Rensink has been invited to exhibit in the “56th Annual National Drawing & Small Sculptures Show” at Del Mar College, 101 Baldwin Blvd., Corpus Christie, TX 78404. Jeff Forster at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft
Jeff Forster announces his participation in the exhibition “Nothing Goes to Waste” at The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, January 29th-May 7th. Nothing Goes to Waste showcases a survey of artists who find exciting ways to reuse and repurpose materials, scraps, and castoffs through ingenuity. Highlighting works created from discarded materials like ceramic shards, cut paper, and marble remnants, the exhibition explores how salvaged material can inspire creativity and provoke curiosity about the impact various industrial and artistic processes have on the ecology of the planet. HCCC opening reception Friday, January 28 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm.

Foelber Pottery Gallery announces the 24th “Contained & Arranged” exhibit. After a two year hiatus this fabulous collaboration between local ceramists and area florists is back! Empty Bowls Houston is returning! The event, number 16 (!), will be held Saturday, May 14, at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, 10 am - 3 pm. You may donate small quantities of bowls -- we still have bowls donated for the cancelled 2020 and 2021 events -- at the Craft Center or Ceramic Store beginning (but not before, please) beginning April 1. Archway Gallery will again host its Empty Bowls Invitational Exhibition during the month of May, with the opening reception on Saturday, May 7, 5 - 8 pm
Join us at Third Coast Clay for “Roy Hanscom: No Limits” a presentation and demonstration of Roy’s expansive knowledge of his clay techniques. Roy has won several awards along with being included in the private collection of the San Angelo Fine Art Museum. Coloring Clay with Kathleen Hamlet - Nerikomi
In this hands-on workshop you will be shown how to add shades of colour to the clay then how to combine the different coloured clays to create a variety of patterns. You will be shown how to prepare the clay so that the patterns are well compressed and integrated into a slab that you will then use to make vessels. This workshop is intended for all skill levels. All materials will be provided. Your creations will be fired for you and ready to be picked up 2-4 weeks after the workshop. Please be dressed comfortably and ready to get dirty !

Handbuilding Intensive Workshop with Michelle Heinesen
Learn basic handbuilding techniques in a day - this intensive beginners' workshop is all about getting creative, having a good time and experimenting with clay in a friendly environment. Techniques covered will include slab building, coiling, pinching and kurinuki. All levels of experience are welcome! Stoneware clay, handbuilding tools and bisque firing of pieces are included.
Option to glaze artwork as an add-on class (please contact for more info)
